*DEADLINE for abstract submission has been extended to july 31, 2017. all submissions after that deadline will be considered for poster presentations only.


Registration for the 9th Symposium on Harmful Algae in the US is required for abstract submission. Register through 9th HAB Symposia and submit your abstract at that time as part of the registration process. 

Abstract submissions will be reviewed by the National HAB Symposia Steering Committee and notification of abstract acceptance will be made in August 2017. These abstracts will be compiled and published in the abstract book.

When submitting your abstract please indicate your first and second choice for a session topic and whether you are submitting for an oral, poster presentation, or poster presentation with speed talk. A description of each session is provided below. Oral presentations are anticipated to be 20 minutes in length (with questions). Speed talks will be 5 minute timed presentations and will be a component of each session. Instructions for the preparation of talks, posters, and speed talks will be provided upon acceptance of abstracts. Please note that these session topics are not guaranteed and may be adjusted or combined depending on the number of abstracts received.

Abstracts will not be considered without conference registration.

GUIDELINES FOR SAMPLE ABSTRACT FORMAT AND ONLINE SUBMISSION
Follow the format exactly as used in the sample abstract.
In particular:
• Use all capital letters for the abstract title.
• Names and addresses should appear as in the example.
• Single space all lines.
• Submit a word document (no pdf documents accepted).
• Use a maximum of 250 words for the body of the abstract (exclusive of title and author address and affiliations).
